hi everyone!! not sure how often you all check this blog out, but i decided to post anyway.

hope everyone's been doing well. uni here has been a very eye-opening experience...you really learn to do things for yourself and learn to interact and accept people who are different from you. a lot of people here know about Singapore surprisingly. maybe cos the exchange and summer programs to NUS are pretty popular. I have friends from here going to NUS in the summer and fall, so very excited for them. FINALLY they can see what i've been describing about all along. =)

School here's been challenging. this sem especially. i think i took too many courses, so i'm kinda worn out now...i think next sem i'll try to take it slow.

people here have been very nice to me. perhaps its because its the South and here, the idea of Southern Hospitality is prevalent. so far a lot of people have told me, if i ever need a place to stay, i'm always welcomed at their place. I'm very touched by this gesture and feel very blessed. maybe cos i may not necessarily extend this sort of welcome if the roles were reversed. (ya, i know i'm a selfish pig.)

hmmm, so what other things would you all like to know? just shot an email or comment or sth so i can update you all.

Spring and fall here are so beautiful guys. i wish you could see it! last week, we had warm weather and you can see people lounging around in the quad (field) between the class buildings playing frisbee , doing homework, reading, talking, etc...we are also allowed to ask the prof whether we could have lessons outside because its so nice out. Also, all the flowers are budding. There are some trees that a few weeks back had pink flowers and last week, they were green and now white. I can't wait until spring actually sets in (now is the transition from winter to spring), when everything has bloomed. i heard that the campus looks gorgeous during that time. i will try to take as many photos as i can remember to. =)

I miss all of you and am already counting down to the time when we can finally see each other again. i hope you all are enjoying yourselves wherever you may be in life now. talk to you all soon.

Chiang Mai trip

Hi all... Just to do some advert on Chiang Mai trip.

I am organizing a Thailand trip this July. The guide is a Singaporean living there with his Thai wife. So he will bring us to many places that only Thais have access to.

The last time I went...

We went to stay in a resort on top of the mountain. It was super super cold up there. Below 10 degrees. The water there is freezing... faulty heater.. but nevertheless a good experience. the scenery is fantastic. There are little children there that will offer to dance for us for a small fee. Also there will be children that offer to go with us to the mountain the next day to carry all our baggage for us.

We went for rafting... which will be especially fun during the summer period...cos the water will really rush... We went for some hiking in the nature park.... it is not like bukit timah...we really walk on rocky... and unbuilt path. Sometimes will slip... and quite scary... some paths make of bamboo that will break sometimes.. quite scary... screamed like mad.

We also climb up to the top of a waterfall and sat there to enjoy the warm spring water fall on us.

... Also we had elephant trip... where the elephant take us for a ride..

and of course..some night market walk and local cuisine tasting.. Also get to witness the sun rise on a mountain... the scenery is really fantastic on the mountain..u are literally above the clouds from up there. After coming down from the mountain, it was still cold.... about 8.... so we bought some SPICY TOMYAM cup noodles from the street vendors and ate.... eating hot spicy cup noodle in the cold is really a luxury.

With youths like us...we can do more adventurous stuff... heard we can include things like... travelling on the truck thing... as in we drive it... from one village to another... Camping in the open field to see the star-filled sky. Think in the countryside, the sky scenery should be quite good.

Oh... the guide also mention that we can stay at their house... in Chiang Rai... and they have their own padi field and we can actually try harvesting rice and then we can cook and eat the rice we harvest ourselves.

The weather there is super cold in December. In chiangrai, the tempreture is about 10 degrees. And in Chiang mai about 18-20 degrees.

I will contact the tour guide... and ask for the itinerary. See wat he say... hopefully he is free in july.

We will take Tiger airways or Jet star... since it is the most budget.

Please Join us if you can ok!!

If your parents are concern about the safety of Thailand... tell them that the chaos is usually at the capital in Bangkok... in Chiangmai, Chiangrai...there are no chaos or riots..just cows... and grass..and mountain... nobody will want to cause riot there lah... make no difference also lah.

OKOK... PLEASE ASK YOUR PARENTS AND TRY TO JOIN US OK!!

best regards,
xinwei

there we go.

we have a blog! we have a blog!! we have a blog!!!

remember the haising days where we laughed ourselves silly over somestuffthaticantremember? remember ng bak hon and her obsession with pulling hair, kicking people, and walking around kockkockkock with her high heels? remember karen ng who was... ngbackhon no.2? remember the recess periods where we were given a ridiculously short time to gobble down our lunch before mr gng blows the whistle? remember that we had to carry a story book wherever we went? remember the BBC award? remember the 'HIGH' PROGRAM? remember that we had to rush to the library to write down our book titles and page number and favourite phrase? remember the SRAs? remember the crows along pasir ris park? remember? remember?

now is that exciting? almost 3 years after graduation before we finally have this blog right here. i thought it's time we have one since many of us do not have blogs that keeps us informed about one another. it's also better than having a personal blog, in a sense, cuz we can take turns to post and avoid the awful wait for updates. so... BLOG AWAY peeps!!

we can crap, chat, mess around, gossip, reminders, share information, go back into reminiscence-mode... whatever. anyone with group photos, photos of their boyfriend(hinthint), or any other interesting photos, please post them up here for all to see and gasp and laugh at.
